This is a long alloy steel hollow shaft, about 23 inches, bored through end to end with a 1-3/8-12 UN pin thread on both ends. In the middle there's a collar with three milled slots, and along the body we cut sets of O-ring grooves, drilled the small cross-holes and milled two rows of slotted ports through the wall. The seal diameters are held to .001, which on a part this long and slim means taking it easy on the finish passes so it doesn't push away from the tool. Laser-engraved in house, then phosphate through our finishing partner.
