We turned this downhole nipple out of beryllium copper - hollow, with a Stub Acme thread on each end and a hex in the middle to wrench on. The two ends run different Acme threads and one of them is a double start, so the threading setup took some attention to get right. We turned the body and the bore, milled the hex flats, and single-pointed the Acme threads, holding the diameters to .005. BeCu stock isn't cheap, so we set the job up to get it right the first time.
